• "unimportant but important"

    He was now driving in his super fast, super hot car, a mercedes Gaurdian. as he was driving, he began to think, think about where it was he was going. He decided that he would go to the far edge of the city, to the forest that was there, and do some exploring of his own.

    * * *

    Dwayn pulled off onto a dirt path, which shortly turned into a small parking lot. There was only one other car there, he didn't recognize who the car belonged to, so he ignored it.
    He pulled up, and parked. He sat there for a few minutes, thinking about what it was exactly he was doing. he got out and started to head towards the trail. He then stopped, and turned. He turned because he had heard sniffling. there was a girl, about his age sitting down, head bent against her knees. He looked at her for a second, not recognizing her, he walks over to her, wanting to help. He places his hand on her shoulder, "Are you okay?" he asks, bending down to her eye level. Taken by surprise, she instantly looks up with a start, and wipes at her eyes.
    He then recognizes her, "What's wrong?" he asks her again, more concern dripping from his voice. She wipers her eyes again and takes a deep breath.
    "It's a long story." she sighs.
    "I have time for anything you need to talk about. I'm the kind of person who will help a complete stranger." he says, as she just looks at him. "I can help if you share." he persuades again. She takes a deep breath, relaxing some more so her voice wouldn't crack when she tried to tell him what was wrong.
    "A lot of stuff i guess. Davey cheated on me, my parents are fighting, they're yelling at me the whole "I told you he wasn't good for you! but nooo, you don't listen, do you?!" a friend of mine was the one he cheated on me with... and blah blah blah blah blah!" she sighs, tears starting to form again. Dwayn wipes away a tear with his thumb and says, "No need to cry, first, Davey is a dumbass, even I knew that, if she really were your friend, she wouldn't have done that. As for your parents, they probably DO have a good idea on how a guy is going to act. You may not want to listen to them, they may make you miserable at times, but they can know what's best."
    She sighs and says "ya, i know, but it's just hard to listen, they think they know everything about anything, and it gets on my nerves. I mean, ya sure, they have some good ideas, but they can't just let me learn things on my own, if i get hurt, it may make me tougher..."
    "you do have a point, but they love you, so they try to protect you."
    "I know, but still..." it was quiet for a while, in the silence, Dwayn quietly moves to sit next to her.
    "how do you do it?" she asks him.
    "do what?" he replies simply.
    "everything, how do you keep on going when things get rough, when you get rejected?"
    He sighs. "i'm not exactly sure. i just think 'maybe it will happen if i try hard enough, i might get it.' and i guess that's just that. or maybe i try differently, and realize that isn't the right thing for me, so i go do something else. it's like boxing, if one thing doesn't work, maybe something else will." she ponders on this for a few minutes. Not comeing up with anything good she simply says "oh."
