• “WHAT DO YOU WANT?!” I hissed.
“Hmm, did my little Were Tiger wake up on the wrong side of the kennel?”
“What the hell do you want, Tanaku?”
“Can’t I call my favorite Demonic knight without the third degree?” Tanaku asked all flirty like.
“You can if you did call every time you had a job you couldn’t handle,” I said.
    “Ouch! That hurts,”
“Supposed to dear, what do you want,” I asked.
“A date with a very beautiful tiger,” He answered.
-Sigh- why me? Of all people to be flirted with why him? I really didn’t like the guy much at all. He’s always hitting on me. He wouldn’t be so bad if once in awhile he would take to my face not my chest.
“Dates to you elf boy are getting a girl drunk and…”
    “Not true!” Tanaku interrupted.
I didn’t feel like arguing with him.
“Look I’m in a hurry unless you have something worth wild to tell me, hang up,”
“Oh but I do, turns out that vampire you shot yesterday is still alive. Now that the bad news is set aside, we have a name this time. Turns out you target is a very old pureblood.”
    “And?”
    “His name is Juan Cortez,”
    “Not to intimating,”
“Yeah well he’s got a rap. He’s already killed over 60 humans and 6 vampire hunters not to mention a demon in a five year period.”
    “I’ve killed worse,”
    “Just be careful,”
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………
“You going to sulk all day?” Fang asked.
    “I’m not sulking,”
“No you’re pouting because I was right; you liked every second of that kiss,”
“So what if I did? It’s not like that thing happens all the time.”
    “Oh?” he asked.
I glared at him. He seemed to smile more and more often when he’s around me. Strange boy. If he continues to stare like he is I’ll personally make sure he can’t reproduce.
“…And how do you plan to do that?” he asked.
“Plan to do what?” I asked. He must have psychic talents I didn’t know about.
Fang seem lost. I sighed and told him it was time to leave. Traveling by moonlight was something I did often but Fang didn’t seem to feel the same in fact he was sulking the whole trip. He didn’t seem at home walking around people. OH s**t! I TOTALLY FORGOT HE’S A FLEDGELING! I spun around to face him. Oh boy was I right he was losing what self control he had. I snatched he wrist and pulled him to the order’s headquarters.
“Why are we at a church? I can’t go in there…I mean since I’m a vampire I can go into a church right?” Fang asked in a shaky tone.
“That’s a myth, humans made up, besides it’s really a church.”
I brushed my hands up the stone wall. When I found what I was looking for I chanted a demonic opening spell. Stones started to move forming an arc way. I walked through but Fang was a little more hesitant. I ushered him through and the stones quickly sealed back up. I looked around searching for the keypad that would notify the order that I was here. It moved around every once in a while. When I eye caught the technical device I bit my thumb and covered every finger with blood. I carefully placed my hand on the pad. It scanned my bloody prints.
“Perry, Meadow…blood scan…positive, print scan…positive, voice recognition…” the device stated.
    “DEMONIC BLOOD LINE LIVES ON”
“Voice recognition…access granted…the order will be with you shortly dark one”
I closed my eyes and knelt. It never takes long for the order to appear. I quickly change my appearance. As Dark knight no one in the order should know my human form. It was something my father taught me. Granted most of my enemies knew my appearance but the order finds it a great disrespect to come in such a dirty form. My ears moved and change into tiger ears, my eyes changed from indigo to butterscotch and pupil shape. My nails hardened to sharpened, my skin color turn a burnt orange with black stripes. My hair lengthened. My fangs elongated and I grew a tiger tail. Fang gasped. I smirked. It was about time he started showing fear. A glowing, silver being floated towards me.
“You are late Dark one. The order has eagerly been waiting for your arrival. Please follow me.”
    “Of course,” I replied.
    ……………………………………………………………………………………………....
“Lady Meadow, you are late. That is a great disrespect to us. Has your father taught you nothing?” the large, tall man project.
“My father has taught me much, but there are things I choose to ignore. I for one choose to never address follow by your rules unless they are for a good cause. If you have a problem with that please inform me now, Adonis.” I said proudly.
“You have broken a law you yourself created, my lady.” The Elf female said.
“Oh? Dear Leila I don’t think I did,” I smiled.
“You harbor a fledgling. You know he was to be killed after him maker’s death.” Adonis Growled. Oh how I love ticking off the higher powers.
“I did kill his maker… he survived a UV bullet.”
“A UV should have killed him…his maker must be very strong. Tell me, this lad’s name is?” the Nymph female that sat next to Adonis asked.
“His name is none of you concern,” I snapped without thinking.
The nymph smirked. The other two gasped.
“I see, you already have a claim on him.”
I blushed. Fang did that awkward cough thing.
    “It’s not that…um”
“So you found a mate knight?”
    “NO!”
Fang seemed really shocked that order was talking about my love life.
“I see, so you wouldn’t mind I had my way with him and killed would you?” the nymph asked with lust in her eyes.
Fang backed away from the glaring beings. A voice kept telling to fight and claim the fledgling behind me but my mind kept telling me to say no. oh the mixed emotions were tearing me apart. A serge of warmth spread through out my body. It took me awhile to realize fang placed his hand on my shoulder.
“Well knight I am waiting for your answer.” The nymph stated.
I replied, but it was neither my voice nor English. I replied in a dead language which only my grandfather knew. The order gasped and murmured. They dismissed Fang and me.
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………
“Why were asking things like that?” Fang asked.
“They are concerned I’m becoming my father’s mistake,” I replied.
Fang lost his p***k attitude. I just now noticed. Instead of ticking me off like usually, Fang was consoling me. His presence was so full of warmth and love. It was weird, strange, and comforting. Was this what my father felt when he was around my mother? Oh gods what is happening to me? Why do feel these things I shouldn’t feel? I can’t possibly…no I made a vow.
    “What vow?” Fang asked.
“Will you stay out of my mind?” I snapped.
    “I’m not in your mind.”
“All those things you just heard were in my mind.” I growled.
“No, you’re projecting it…I been able to read minds since I was a child, this isn’t reading it projecting.”
“You’re wrong on people with a psychic bond can do that.”
Fang didn’t say anything just stared at me like I was the world to him. His eyes are so beautiful; I never noticed them till now. There were like staring at a sunset, just can’t seem to keep from staring at them. He leaned in, slowly. My face felt like it was on fire thanks to my bright blush. His lips brushed mine, they barley made contact but it felt as if my heart did a back flip. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his. His arms wrapped around me. I receded back to my human form. Fang pulled away leaving me breathless.
“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have…” fang leaned on the wall. He was shaking.
“Fang? Fang are you alright?” I asked.
“Yeah just trying to control certain urges,” He smiled with his eyes closed, “I’ll tell you this though, you keep up with those kisses I wont be able to hold back the urge to bit your neck.”
I blushed really hard. God I hate this weakness. He makes me feel so weak and defenseless. When I finally got my bearings straight I told him it was time we went back.
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………
I was typing away on my laptop in the living room when Fang came in. I didn’t even look up when he walked in, but I could feel his eyes on me. I tried to ignore then as well as I could. So I distracted myself; that didn’t help much because his presence near me was like sitting in a sauna, a loving sauna, but a sauna none the less.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
Trying to ignore you, “typing,” I said coldly.
“Oh?” he arched a brow, “what are you typing?”
I paused. He is up to something, but what is the question. I saved my work and closed the laptop. He was walking towards me. His eyes looked hungry, and deceiving. I stood up quickly.
“Fang? What are you—” I was interrupted when fang grabbed me from behind. When did he learn to use his vamp-speed?
“Forgive me,” he breathed into my ear. I was confused, until his fangs punctured my neck. I fell to my knees, fang followed suit with his fangs still in my neck. I tried to make sense of the situation but I couldn’t think only feel. Fang growled into my neck. My eyes closed and color started to flood my mind. Images of fang and me flashed through my mind. They weren’t modern images; they seem strung throughout periods of time. An image of fang in Egyptian attire flashed into my mind. His hand on a woman’s stomach, words echoed to every corner of my mind. “I love you; I love more than the world itself. I am proud to this child’s father” the image was replaced with a war scene in the roman times. Fang was a proud roman general. He was entering was looked like an Indian palace. His eyes found an Indian slave. “You woman, hither,” the woman obeyed. Meadow gasped it was herself. “My lord?” she asked. “It is you…do you remember me?”
The girl started to cry, “of course my lord.” “No more, my love you will be free. As the gods as my witness please, become my wife. I search for you, since we met. I love you and always will” the image disappeared again. Fang pulled away from my neck.
“Meadow…I’m…so, so sorry.” He said in such a sensitive tone it made her want to cry just hearing it.
“Fang did you see the same things I saw when you bet me?” I asked
Fang nodded. I realized that in each and every image I saw they were lovers…what seem like “soul mates”. I turn towards fang, and caressed his face. He moaned without realizing it.
    “Fang I think we’re soul—”
The window broke. Something flew from the window seal and landed behind me.
“Buenos noches, Senorita meadow I have come to reclaim my fledgling.” Juan smirked.
“THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!” I growled while changing form. I went to pounce only to fall to my knees. I was weak from the bite. I silently cursed.
-Evil laughter-“My pet seems to follow order well while he’s unconscious. Don’t you think.” he snickered with a Latino accent.
“What?” was all I could manage to say?
“Hmm sad I didn’t account him waking up in the middle of it all though, sad really such a strong mind wasted on you,”
I growled. I strung to my feet and kicked him hard. Bad idea, my head started to spin.
“Slave boy I command you to contain her and kill her we have things to do.” Juan hissed, “Wait…bring her with us instead. Her blood will be put to better uses as well as her body.”
The last thing I remember was Fang’s lifeless eyes staring at me and the single tear that ran his cheek.
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………
A cold drop of water splashed my face. I tried to open my eyes but didn’t have the strength to do the deed. The only thing I could move feel and move were my lungs. I tried to focus on the sounds around. Using my heighten hearing I could here a faint heart beat. Then a light gasp. Crying, and screams from far away grew louder. Chains rattled from behind me. Then the light touch on my shoulder woke me. My eyes slowly opened. My sight was damaged everything was blurry.
“Meadow? Meadow wake up dear,” I knew that voice. It couldn’t be he’s dead. “Come on dear, stay with me.”
    “Dad?” I said breathless.
“I’m here baby, don’t move too much. You’re low on blood so take it easy.”
    “I thought you were dead.”
“You were supposed to dear, it was to protect you. I am so proud of you meadow you have become a wondrous knight.” My father said.
What sounded like running began to grow louder and louder.
