The Day of Black Light, part 2
"What do you mean by that?" He asked, looking at me with an odd look. I placed my hand out in front of me, facing the Eastern wall. A black diamond object materialized into my hands. It shone a dark and sinister light, and in the center was a pale orb of light. I clasped my hand around the object.
"Exactly that, brother." I had my eyes closed, I held the dark object in my palm. "You hold power like mine; our bond is what will save everyone we care for, both in the DarkNite World, and the human world."
"That's impossible." He shook his head.
"'There are no coincidences in fate, just as there is no reason to life.' It's a gamble, but we play the game." I opened my eyes briefly to glance at him. "Wouldn't you say?"
He gulped, watching me as I kept my eyes closed.
"The impossible is just a veil covering our eyes from what really hides beneath the shadows." I opened my eyes, making the object dissapear.
"You're pretty wise for an eighteen year old." He grimaced. I stood, extending my hand towards him.
"Come, I believe you know what time it is. It's time for the Initiation." I smiled, beconing with my fingers. He took my hand with a smile, and we walked together, hand in hand, down the halls of the castle.
"Today, we celebrate the Initiation of two Souls linked to one..." I drowned out the rest, looking out up to the sky, of which was a beautiful and stunning sky blue. It reflected off space, showing us its vastness and how insignificant we are.
"We will start with Kilunar Julien Keiko, or Kostai, the Angel of Trust, as known from the time of the Start." Kilunar stood, proud and tall, wearing a white button up shirt with a small red ribbon around his neck. He wore a green vest with no sleeves over that, and black pants. His shoes were black as well, so his attire made his blonde hair and blue eyes stand out like a sore thumb.
The interesting part of Initiations is the part where they show the people their powers, what they can do. He pointed a finger at the tall floor torches surrounding the open grass area, and the flames flickered, before coming away from their pedistal and swirling together in the center of the area, forming a dragon of flames. He made it dance around the vast field, before splitting it back up and placing it into its rightful area.
"Thank you, Kostai." Mother - the Queen - would always use their First Names when it came to the Initiation. Afterwards, it was always by their current names.
"The second, though not in the least bit uninteresting, is Yumi Nereza Keiko," I stood as she said my name, walking to the center of the stone area. "Known as Aidaka, The Angel of Courage, at the time of the Start."
I wore my casual attire, though I had taken off the tiara, revealing the red gem in my forehead for the first time to the world. I bowed once, and closed my eyes. Placing my palm out before me, I materialized the black diamond from before, my ace up the sleeve. I set it on the ground facing Northwards, taking two, slow and deep breaths.
I whispered to myself the six elements, though loud enough for the ones in the front row to hear.
"Fire, then Water, Air, Earth, Darkness, and Light." I whispered, motioning with a finger for the black diamond. I twirled the diamond once in my hands, then I let it seep into my hand.
Warmth spread from my right arm, and with it some pleasurable pain. I opened my eyes, of which by now were the color of black violets. I put both my hands together, then slowly seperated them, creating lightning between the two. Though the lightning was black and foreboading.
With two exhales, I sent away the elements that housed my body, making the black diamond come out from my hand, and with it the pain left. I closed my fist around it, making it disapear. I bowed to the crowd, then Amaterasu and Kilunar both stood beside me.
"Tell me what that was later." They both whispered through unmoving lips. I nodded with my eyes.
"Today, we will no longer know these two as seperate, but as one, as their Souls bind them 'One Soul inhabiting two bodies.' And we will no longer see them as the Royal Children, but from this day forth, as the Rulers of these lands." Amaterasu finished with a big smile.
It took me by shock; I mean, I didn't think they were ready to stop ruling yet. The crowd cheered, though saddened, and they rose from their seats, only to bow in front of us. Both Father and Mother bowed as well, which made me fidget.
"Normally, under normal circumstances, I'd have arranged a marriage for you both. But seeing this is not so much as a normal walk in the park, I'm thinking more than not." Amaterasu smiled at me, placing her intricate golden vine tiara on my head. I fidgeted some more.
"Mother... I don't like this... taking your place, you're not kicking the bucket, are you?!" I asked nervously.
"Oh dear heavens no." She smiled softly, and so I knew immediately where I;d gotten it from. "Regulations. We had a child - in this case, two - that were at the Initiation age. It's reglumentary that we step aside now. Anyways, you will make a fine and powerful ruler, Nereza."
As I watched her leave out the castle doors, saddened, Kilunar put a comforting hand onto my shoulder.
"It doesn't matter, I know." I sighed. "We can figure this out once we save the worlds."
"What was that black diamond?" Kilunar asked, as we walked to a small stone overlook just out back of the gates. From there, you could see the vast ocean, the beautiful rocks that made the world a wonder, and the Sakura trees leaving behind their petals in the wake of the wind.
"My ace in the hole." I sighed, sitting on the bench that overlooked the vast view. "It's a power amplifier; though it is made out of Dark Magic, which is why the lightning was black. It gives me the capacity to use Elements that are uncontrollable."
I took the tiara off my head, looking at it a moment. I put it on my lap, sighing. Kilunar took it from there, looked at it and turned my head with a finger on my chin. He placed it back on my head, stroking my hair.
"You can't ignore your desteny, you know." He patted my hand. "But I'll be right there too, so there's nothing to worry about."
I smiled, brushing my lips on his.
"Thank you, my king." I whispered against his.
