• A lone figure cloaked in a green shawl stepped out of the forest, examining the area before her. "The coast is clear. Shall we proceed with our plans?" Another silhouette appears, this one a male. "It seems fine. Look up - the moon is half full, we will blend into the shadows. The city up ahead seems to be calm." The woman peered into the distance - the sleeping village up ahead had no idea that it was about to be ambushed by the mysterious pair.

"Let's go, now, when we still have the chance," she said. She threw off her green coat, revealing a tight-fitting dress with leggings. This particular costume was a uniform for all ninjas on duty. However, her outfit was not what attracted the eye of a usual passerby. The woman in general was pretty - she had steely brown eyes and long, black hair. She tied her long hair up in a loose bun on top of her head, and had front bangs that fell till her eyebrows. She casually brushed to the side occasionally, unnecessarily seeing as it flopped right back down again. Aside from her face, she had a curvy body, slim and flexible yet still womanly. The perfect combination for a ninja. People never suspected an assassin to be a beautiful woman.

    "Let's go then, Hatori."

Hatori snapped into reality - he had been admiring the body of the pretty ninja in front of him. Truthfully, he had been in love with his partner, Sara, for many years. He had never told her, suspecting that she would beat him up, plus being too shy to speak up. Blushing, he ran up to her as she leaped up the hill towards the town up ahead. What an idiot, he berated himself, following suit. "Hey, slow down a bit, will you?"

Both ninjas leaped onto the top of a brick roof. Sara turned around, scowling at him. Her eyes seemed to penetrate Hatori, making him shiver. "No funny stuff this time. We are on an official mission - assassinate the lord's daughter. Got it? If you get caught..." Trailing off, the girl mimed cutting off her throat. "Yes, Princess Sara," Hatori replied meekly. Again, her head whipped around. His words froze in his mouth. "Don't call me that," she hissed, glaring at him, daring him to talk back. Her head slowly swiveled back towards the night scenery before her. "The lord's manor is right over there. Stay here - wait for my signal." Before Hatori could reply, Sara skillfully jumped off the rooftop, landing silently like a cat on the ground. Pulling out a dagger, she crept towards the wall of the mansion. She peered inside, and seeing that it was quiet, she gave the okay sign. At once, her male companion hopped off the building, running swiftly to the house. Sara put a finger on her mouth, eyes twitching warningly. Hatori nodded, rolling his eyes, but she fixed him with a well-placed stare. She opened the window and crept in.

The room was silent. The lord lay sleeping in the room in front of them. Hatori gave a muffled gasp, and Sara quickly covered his mouth. Glaring at him, Hatori shook his head, raising his arms in surrender. Rolling her eyes, she sneaked over to the doorway, looking around for other rooms that seemed like a bedroom. Spotting it, she smiled, and slid past the door frame easily. Pulling out a dagger, she held it up to the young woman's throat. However, at that moment, the male beside her clumsily tripped over an obstacle lying in front of the doorway. A crash followed, and voices were heard from the other rooms. "What was that?"

The sleeping girl started to wake up. Shooting Hatori a horrified and extremely angry look that immediately made him wither, she grabbed his hand and clambered out of the window. Alarms sounded all over the village. "Intruder! Intruder!" Sara increased her speed, basically dragging her partner along. "You idiot," she hissed, leaping past the oncoming guards. "Get them - it's just two people!" The chief goaded the guards on with war cries. Sara gritted her teeth. At this rate, the whole town would wake up. "I'm sorry, Sara," Hatori began, but the look Sara shot him shut him up. "You just wrecked the whole mission, you big idiot!" The disappointment in her eyes was enough to make him feel terrible for the rest of his life.

At last, they outran the guards. Sara's male counterpart panted, kneeling down. "That was quite an exercise, wasn't it?" He put on an optimistic smile, though feeling terrible inside. However, Sara could not see the bright side of the situation at all. "How are you going to tell my dad this?" The beautiful woman looked at Hatori straight in the eye. "I don't think you're qualified to be a ninja yet," she went on. He sunk lower - he already felt like a piece of dung. He wore a look of shock on his face - Sara had accompanied him on his first mission. She was already a professional, and she was to give him an example to follow. Unfortunately, Hatori had messed it up. "You know what... I think you might need a wait a f-" Before she had finished, she was grabbed into a kiss by Hatori. He held there for five seconds before pulling away, blushing. Sara stared blankly at him, still frozen. "I don't want to hear you say that... I like you, you know?" He turned around, blushing furiously. He covered his mouth. What had come over him? "Sara?" He turned around, to find her still looking distantly at him. She seemed to come to reality at his call, turning bright red. "Y-you idiot!" She clobbered him on the head. "Ouch!" Hatori rubbed his head as she pivoted on her heel and marched down the path. However, he smiled. He knew he would have to work to get her heart, but eventually she would fall for him. Eventually.
