• For centuries yokai, fae, and other supernatural creatures existence has been hidden behind a mystic barrier that has prevented them from being seen and interacting with humans with few exceptions even at the weak points of the barrier. When a corporation experiments with an experimental energy source it drains the barrier of all power and allows humans and the supernatural to once again interact. The problem is due to the centuries of separation the humans methods of defending themselves against the supernatural have either been forgotten or warped. When a certain supernatural starts to cause problems in a certain city no one can do anything to stop it save for an old couple and their grandkids. This family are direct descendants of those who created the barrier and have very carefully retained that knowledge. While the Grandmother is of middle eastern descent the grandchildren resemble their grandfather who is of Japanese descent. The Grandson who is still in elementary school has the makings of a powerful exorcist, while the high school aged Granddaughter whose only supernatural ability was the ability to see and interact with the supernatural even before the barrier came down. Combining this ability with her scientific inclinations she has developed her own ability to deal with the supernatural. This is their story post barrier fall
