• The next day there was a report on TV. “The principal of Oakvale High School was found dead early this morning. The second killing leads detectives and experts to believe that there is a large and deadly animal, such a wolf or wildcat, on the loose. If you see this animal, call Animal Services or your local police station immediately.” the news caster announced. Azreal was sitting on the couch and his aunt was standing in the kitchen doorway.

“Torik will probably talk about it before the Hunt tonight.” she whispered.

Torik stood on the rock, looking down at the pack. “If any of you know who the killer is, you must report to me. If the killer is not in this pack, then it must be a stray. Either way if it does not stop, our kind will be found and our time will come sooner then expected.” Torik shouted, pacing. “Let the hunt begin!” he howled jumping down.

Azreal let the change come, looking around for Kara. He spotted her red fur and then to his dismay saw that Blaze was with her. Blaze was bullying her and forcing her to stay by him.

Azreal trotted into the forest and went to his favorite place. There was a hill that overlooked the entire forest. Azreal sat at the top. He tipped his head back and sang a lunar song. He did not notice the other wolf join him. Once they were finished, he was surprised to see Kara. He nuzzled her and tipped his head back to sing again. Kara joined him and then a few wolves down in the forest, Torik among them, joined the lilting song.

Azreal woke up in the morning, Kara in his arms. “Kara, please answer me and don’t get mad.” he said softly.

“What?” she asked, looking up at him.

“Are you, or do you know, the killer?” he asked quietly.

“No, of course not!” she said, slightly annoyed.

“I believe you.” Azreal said helping her to her feet.

After school that day, Kara went with Astrid and her friends to a youth group program called USMC. She was talking to one of her friends. “Oh look who is here.” her friend said looking towards the door. Kara glanced over and saw Azreal with all his friends. “And it looks like Astrid will have some fun.” her friend added.

Astrid was hitting on Astrid. When Azreal ignored her, she tried to kiss him and he pushed her away. Kara bit back a growl and walked closer. “Stop Astrid!” Azreal snarled.

“Oh come on! You wanted me before, what changed your mind?” Astrid whined.

“I did.” Kara stated calmly, walking over. She wrapped her arms around Azreal and kissed him. He smiled, pulling away. He wrapped one arm around her waist.

“How could you?” Astrid whined, glaring at Kara.

“You rejected him, remember? He does not want you so bug off!” Kara growled. Astrid went sulking, rejected, over to her friends and stayed in that corner for the rest of the night.

Azreal hugged Kara to him. “Challenge you to a game of air hockey?” she asked, innocently.

“You’re on!” he said, kissing her before leading her over to the recreation area. They played together for the rest of the night, Azreal beating her most of the time.
